It was a little too cool for the Nestea plunge today in Yonge-Dundas Square, so the participating Canadian universities went right into trying to create branding by building media pieces out of Nestea cans (they call it construct). The University of Toronto installation is pictured above.
Today is the build stage (10am-6pm) and tomorrow (Saturday, March 24, 2012 10am-6pm) is the viewing for the final challenge in The Recruit:It’s more thank just a game. It’s a BUSINESS”. You can check out the building stage and get a free bottle of their product.
Western
The University teams included McGill (in silver suits) “The Nestea Party”, Toronto “Booyakasha”, BC “Pro Fresh”, Queen’s “Persuasian”, Alberta “Hakuna Matata”, Wilfrid Laurier “Fab”, Western "Rockit" and Carleton “Fresh Impact”. I find it unusual to see so many university students around so many cans and they are not guzzling booze from them!

“NESTEA® The Recruit® gives students in 8 participating universities across Canada the opportunity to prove their marketing skills in a series of business challenges, with the members of the winning team each receiving a year's tuition (up to 7,500) and a paid summer internship at Coca-Cola® or one of its partner agencies. 24 teams began in the competition, but only 8 teams remain to compete in Challenge 3 of NESTEA® The Recruit®, which gets underway on Friday March 23rd.
The task? Canstruct an ambient media piece entirely out of NESTEA® cans that exemplifies the brand's positioning, 'The start of Something Different'.”
