Hilton Falls was a nice place to spend on such a warm spring day in the GTA. We wandered along hiking and cross country trails until we ended up at the falls. The park has a fire going and we roasted weiners and marshmallow peeps and then Ann fed the wild chickadees with peanuts - right from her hand.
There was no sign of snow, ice or any wild flowers yet but the season is full of promise. The small river was flowing pretty well even though there was no spring melt snow to feed the flow of water. With the fire and the waterfalls the next best part of this park is the abundance of chickadees that will eat from you hand if you are patient enough. There are a number of trails that you can take and they paths are well marked, both as park trails and with the blue slash of a Bruce Trail sidepath.
See more nature after the jump.
Remnants of the old mill still lie at the base of the falls
