Vikki Lenola and the Vegan Fashion Show

Compassion always remains in fashion and Producer and animal rights activist Vikki Lenola brings her Vegan Fashion Show to Planted Expo in Toronto. The fashion show took place early afternoon on the first day of the weekend expo taking place March 23-24 at Enercare Centre in Exhibition Place which will later move to Vancouver in June 2024.

The designers, fashions and accessories are vegan and for each it was important for the designer to remove animal products from their products. Cruelty free fashions without animal involvement also reduces the environmental impact of obtaining and treating animal byproducts, a win-win for society. Six designers took part in the Toronto show; QZ Shen, Millie & Maxie, The Wifey Collection, No. 49 Hangbags, Jummobi Apparel and AVE Bags as Vikki hosted the Vegan Fashion Show.

Toronto Planted Expo with the Vegan Fashion Show

Planted Expo is in Toronto's Enercare Centre for the March 23-24, 2024 weekend, hosting over 150 plant-based companies and brands for those that do not consume any food made or derived from animals. Vegans also replace animal-based products, including items used in fashion, with non-animal alternatives which you can see during Saturday's Vegan Fashion Show. You can see more of the Vegan Fashion Show on my post here.

Some of the models at the Vegan Fashion Show

Vickki Lenola is the producer/director of the Vegan Fashion Show which will begin at 12:35pm with an opening talk followed by the fashion show which will finish around 1:30pm. It is truly amazing the clothes they can make from plant-based products which can replace items like leather and feathers to help make the world more cruelty-free.
This vegan exhibition is at Enercare Centre in Exhibition Place, open from 10am till 5pm each day and you can purchase tickets online at Planted Expo. Visit the show and see plant-based offerings of everything from food and drink to travel and lifestyle businesses.

The show also features many knowledgeable vegan speakers to educate and inspire visitors to the show (schedule copied below). A special addition to the lineup of speakers during the day you can always buy evening tickets to see Dr. Michael Greger, author of How Not to Age and several famous netflix docuseries, tell us how to live longer. The presentation will also be recorded for podcast.
There are a lot of healthy, happy people in Hall D of the Centre and you learn quickly that it's not just tofu, it is really incredible how many food types are now made with plants. If you like food and drink samples this is the place for you.

Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show 2024

The Big Recreational Vehicle Show has setup in the International Centre over the February 29 to March 3, 2024 weekend with electrical connections plugged in, patio awnings up and beverages at the ready. Weather is inconsequential because the show is inside and the thousands of visitors are either campers or potential campers checking out what is available in the market, feeling good knowing that this show is produced by the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association and some of the largest RV Dealers are here to tempt them with deals on some great models.

Luckily you don't have to order your tickets six months in advance by waking up at dawn with three computers hoping to get passes into the show. Now you can just buy tickets to the Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show online, or at the door, and enjoy the free parking at the International Centre and wander the five enormous halls of the centre which also includes a 15,000 square foot RV Parts and Camping Marketplace.
It was interesting to see the back ramp decks on a lot of units. Another trend is the second floor units with a lot of windows and more room for car, kayak and biking spaces.
Stairs to the second floor
There are also a lot of chances to enter contests like the Cash Cube above, in thus case you have to buy a trailer to get in the cube.

Campers are like boaters, their current model is just until they get the next bigger one, unless they are going for the tiny little campers because they are so cute, or get that next boat because there is a houseboat dealer at the show. And to find camp sites you can visit several that are at the show like Camp Hillbilly, Family Paradise Seasonal Resort Community and Great Blue Resorts. This show is great partly because of the large amount of camping trailers, recreational vehicles, tent trailers, van campers, pickup truck camper inserts, fifth wheels and more - from $16k to $100k plus, in one place and allowing walk throughs of the units.

Don't just get an RV, try out the luxury bus camping lifestyle.

Find booth 505 where you can enter contests, check out the RV Lifestyle, live entertainment and kids zone. You can also attend a number of seminars throughout the weekend, like the GO Power Solar - What you need to tap the sun for power in the Aviation Ballroom A/B near Hall 5.

Show Hours

Thursday, February 29th 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday, March 1st 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday, March 2nd 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Sunday, March 3rd 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

I was checking the vendor list and some of the more interesting ones include 3 Angry Cats, Roasty Toasty Campfire Company (if you buy park wood you might want to check out this company started by a 13 year old!), Terego for camping at some unusual places like wineries and farms, Urban eBikes because I love ebikes and Cinderella Incinerating Toilets. The rest I will discover at the show.
