Toronto Air Show CIAS 2026

High flying planes have returned to the skies of Toronto's waterfront, minus the Good Old(?) U.S. Air Force's F-16 Viper Demonstration Team, as part of the CNE's annual entertainment options. The Canadian International Air Show (CIAS) runs September 5-7, 2026 from noon till 3:40pm alongside Exhibition Place during the Labour Day holiday weekend.

From the CIAS website, "Celebrate North America's longest running air show. The Canadian International Air Show will hold its 77th edition in 2026." And with the end of the Snowbirds "we prepare for their final performance in Toronto, before the operational pause, we stand in gratitude for more than five decades of excellence and dedication. This is your last opportunity to look up to the sky and honour the extraordinary team that has defined Canadian aviation history with the red and white CT-114 Tutor jets!"

FIFA World Cup 2026 starts today in Toronto

I think this event will result in the biggest hiring of security guards in the history of Toronto as World Cup soccer, or possibly football plays six games in the City beginning June 12, 2026 and ending July 2. In addition to the games there is a FIFA Fan Fest taking place in Fort York and Bentway Park during the sporting event. This year's tournament is taking place in three countries; Canada, Mexico and the United States with sixteen host cities and 48 teams involved. Canadian cities are Vancouver and Toronto and overall the World Cup will run from June 11 to July 19.

Toronto's six games will happen at BMO Field in Exhibition Place on the following dates.

Toronto Motorcycle and Powersport Show 2026

Ready to ride? Probably not just yet, but it is warming up so come by the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place from February 20 to 22, 2026 to check out the latest models during the Toronto Motorcycle and Powersport Show. Also get ready for some excitement with Canada’s very own Highway Heathens putting on a motorcycle stunt performance as well as guest Seth Enslow, freestyle motocross superstar.

Highway Heathens put on quick demo before show opens. Their first show is Friday at noon.

2026's show has the machines, gear and attractions - like Seth Enslow's legendary Metal Mulisha Honda 250 (featured in Crusty Demons of Dirt 7), to make this a fantastic weekend in Exhibition Place. You can also see the TerreMX all-electric motorcycles demos on an indoor dirt track and a synthetic X-Track.

There is even an app you can download that provides all sorts of info including a floor plan and event schedules, it is called myshowapp and you can use it for multiple shows.

Rodeos and the last day of the 2025 Toronto Royal Fair

Ten days of the 2025 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and Royal Horse Show comes to an end on Sunday, November 16 in Exhibition Place. And it ends with a bang as two Rodeos take place beginning with the Royal Rodeo Qualifier at 11am followed by the Royal Rodeo Finals at 2:00 pm, both presented by the Ontario Ford Dealers. Celebrity Amber Marshall, star of the CBC show Heartland, will guest emcee the Rodeos. Tickets to the Royal Horse Show include entrance to the Winter Fair, or you can upgrade your Winter Fair tickets to attend the Royal Horse Show.

There is also plenty of events taking place throughout the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair taking place in the Animal Theatre, the Royal Paddock, the Semex Ring of Excellence, the Small Animal Pavilion, the Royal Petting Farm, the Ag-Tivity Stage and the Farm and Play Zone. Watch performances on the OLG Entertainment Stage, visit the paddocks, the Dairy Education Centre and take in talks on the Growth Hub Stage. Santa Claus will also be on site to meet the kids!

The Rodeo competitions will see cowpokes of both sexes taking part in exciting riding events such as Saddle & Bareback Bronc Riding, Pole Bending & Barrel Racing, Bull Riding with the Matinee Final Show also including The Canadian Cowgirls. The Bull Riding requires cowboys to stay mounted to the two thousand pound animal for eight seconds.

Over a Century of Champions at the Toronto Royal Winter Fair

Every day over the ten days of the Toronto Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and Royal Horse Show you can find an amazing amount of events and attractions to discover. The Royal takes place from November 7 to 16, 2025 at Enercare Centre in Exhibition Place and head over to their website to look at the extensive schedules and get a couple of tickets to the RAWF and the Royal Horse Show. Royal hours are Sun and Mon 9am to 6pm and Tues to Sat from 9am to 8pm with some performances running beyond these times. 

From the Royal, "This November discover, learn and celebrate over ‘A Century of Champions’! Today The Royal has grown to be the largest indoor agricultural and equestrian event in the world. The Royal Horse Show is one of the world’s finest equestrian spectacles and attracts athletes from across the planet. A win at The Royal means something, regardless of whether you’re pickling, jamming, raising beef or driving six-horse hitches. Every year, 300,000 people come to The Fair to celebrate the very best food, livestock and horsemanship this country has to offer."

It was a busy weekday at the Royal as dozens of buses brought in about 4,000 students to explore animals and agricultural, many probably for the first time. The petting farm and the farm and play zone were very popular for the school children.

Mid-week has many activities ready to experience on Wednesday, November 12 with three horse shows including two free shows (8am morning and 1pm afternoon matinee) and a paid evening performance beginning at 7pm. Entertainment on the OLG Stage has Kristin Nicholls (11:00 AM, 12:30 PM), Craig McRae (2:00 PM, 3:30 PM) and Matthew Runaway Duo 5:00 PM. On Wednesday's schedule is also the following.

Nov 12, 2025 from Jump Media, "Canadian Olympian Erynn Ballard of Tottenham, ON, opened international show jumping competition at the Royal Horse Show in winning fashion by riding Let’s Fly to victory in the $45,000 International Strength & Speed Welcome on Wednesday, November 12, at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, ON.

The first competition of the CSI5*-W division, which denotes the highest level of show jumping sport also offering a FEI World Cup™ qualifying grand prix, saw riders competing over a one-round “power and speed” track set by course designer Olaf Petersen, Jr. of Germany. Riders navigated eight fences and, if they left all of them in place, immediately advanced to the speed portion of the course."

Toronto Royal Horse Show and Royal Winter Fair return November 2025

Fall fairs across Ontario have been leading up to the famous Royal Horse Show and Royal Agricultural Winter Fair to take place in Exhibition Place, Toronto from November 7 to 16, 2025. The Fair started in 1922 and was awarded the Royal designation by King George of England, now it is the "largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition in the world".

As the country comes to the city, the Royal takes over Enercare Centre and the Royal Coliseum (now Coca Cola Coliseum) for the ten day show which features excellence in livestock, crops, food and of course the beautiful horses. You can buy tickets separately for the Winter Fair and the Horse Show, or if you buy tickets to the Horse Show your entrance into the Winter Fair is included.

From the Agricultural Winter Fair, "The Royal’s nine food competitions (Cheese & Butter, Ready-To-Eat Meats, Ice Cream, Jams & Jellies, Pickles, Honey, Maple, Hot Sauce, and Butter Tarts) will take place in late October 2025. You can expect to see the Royal Champions in all these competitions integrated into various restaurants, hospitality and digital initiatives at this year’s Fair."

And the Royal Horse Show, "International show jumping is the highlight of The Royal Horse Show, featuring the $280,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Toronto, presented by Ecclestone Horse Transport, on closing night, Saturday, November 15. The world’s best will be in attendance, including Daniel Coyle (IRL) and McLain Ward (USA), both currently in the top 10 on the Longines World Rider Rankings. Alex Matz (USA) will be back to defend his Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Toronto title and faces stiff competition from 2023 winner, Daniel Bluman (ISR), as well as Irish stalwarts Conor Swail and Shane Sweetnam."

You can find plenty to see and do at the shows from displays, specialized vendors and food and drink available for all tastes. It's hard to take in all that you want to see in one day, so come back for a few days! Some of the highlights of the shows are described below.

On November 8 see the Farmers versus First Responders Royal Challenge as the teams go head to head for a victory of strength, skill and stamina.

Take in the Animal Theatre with Super Dogs and horse demonstrations.

Canadian International Air Show 2025

The 76th annual Toronto Air Show, or Canadian International Air Show (CIAS), is now on for the Labour Day weekend running Aug 30 to Sept 1 and with an initial practice on Friday, August 29. All shows will fall between noon and 3:40pm so keep your eyes on the skies over Toronto and Lake Ontario near Exhibition Place to see the planes take centre stage as an important part of the Canadian National Exhibition.

Some cool aircraft are participating in 2025 such as the P51 Mustang, the CF-18 and F-35 along with the long range patrol plane the Aurora, of course the Canadian Snowbird air demonstration team will be closing out the show.

I find Hanlan's Point Beach near the Island Airport to be one of the best places to watch the aerial show, you can see the CN Tower and the City's skyline while the sun is behind you. It's less busy on the island and you can relax in the water waiting for the show to begin. Keep in mind that the beach is clothing optional so it might not be the place to watch for some.
