Filipinos Making Waves Festival

The 6th annual festival celebrated the arts and heritage of the Filipino-Canadian community in #Toronto at Yonge-Dundas Square on Saturday August 18, 2012. Started by Mon and Teresa Torralba in 2006 the event keeps growing and had a lively crowd enjoying the music, artists and groups representing the archipelago in the Pacific Ocean.
The event started with a Kawayan Parade at Yonge, National Anthems and opening remarks by politicians, the community and business leaders. Kids and Teens also made waves and the Youth Waves closed the night by 10:30pm.
