Rising at Shangri-La

Looking like a shiny silver dinosaur (probably a Vegiosaurus) that had escaped from the weird sculpture habitat in the #Toronto Historic Distillery District (http://torontogp.blogspot.ca/2009/06/freaky-sculptures-at-distillery.html) the new Shangri-La hotel and condominium sculpture called “Rising” is certainly an attention grabber. The polished stainless steel sculpture by Zhang Huan even looks ready to charge but is held back by a blue security fence. The creature, or tree roots, is surrounded by birds and is not supposed to be free range until August when Shrangi-La project at University Avenue and Richmond Street opens.
Additional details remain to be added to the large installation that will sit in a reflecting pool.
