Fountains in Nathan Phillips Square

How do you make concrete more interesting? You add some fountains and coloured lights. The new additions at #Toronto City Hall are a nice touch to the large concrete surface known as Nathan Phillips Square.
My brother had pointed the grilles out to me earlier in the year and he said he thought they might be fountains and today I saw them work for the first time. He was right.
People often complain about the wide expanse of concrete both at Nathan Phillips and also at Yonge-Dundas Square but we need places for large groups of people to gather regularily - without having to replace the grass every week. Now with the fountains I can't wait to frolic through the public space - now with 100% less boring.
