St Jacobs Country Farmers' Market

Even in early December the St Jacobs year round Farmers' Market and Flea Market was jammed with people. The market is only open Thursday and Friday (7am to 3:30pm), all year, and Tuesdays (8am to 3pm) in the summer and is billed as Canada's largest year round farmers' market. Full of craft and food vendors the large indoor and outdoor facilities feature just about everything to eat of fill your home, there is also a furniture showroom attached to one of the buildings. There are also horse drawn St Jacobs tours.
St Jacobs Country is north of Kitchener and not too far from Toronto and is a good place when you are looking for something to do on a weekend. If you visit during peak times it maybe difficult to move through the crowds.
The Market website describes "The main market building is a charming post and beam structure jam-packed with delectable foods on the first level. The second level is devoted to home decor and crafts. Peddler’s Village next door boasts house wares, furniture, fashions, footwear, crafts and upscale food vendors. The outdoor market is an eclectic mix of local growers, Old Order Mennonite farmers, an assortment of quality flea market wares, edibles, bedding plants, buskers, petting farm… there is lots to see so be sure to give yourself some time!"
Next door to the sprawling Market buildings is a large antique store where you can wander the aisles looking for deals on old stuff. Later you can visit the St Jacobs village and walk the main street with it's mix of fashion boutiques and outlets, galleries, studios, shops, restaurants, country inn, B&Bs and theatres.
