GINA and PawsWay in February

Who has more fun at PawsWay #Toronto, the dogs or their owners? I couldn't answer that question because it looks like they both enjoy the experience at the pet paradise on Queens Quay. We dropped by recently to find the place full of lean mean running machines - greyhounds. Their skin is thin so even small bites can be damaging so the dogs wear colourful muzzles as they play together.
GINA (Greyhounds in Need of Adoption) is a southern Ontario organization set up to save retuired racing greyhounds through adoptions to happy homes. Almost all greyhounds in Ontario started out as racing dogs in the United States. We found these dogs at PawsWay Toronto during a greyhound night at the pet hotspot down at Queens Quay.

They can run at 64kph and are the fastest dog, they tend to be quiet and they tire easily, which is surprising, but they are so large and lean that they can only go for so long before they need to rest.

GINA volunteers foster each do for a minimum of three weeks after they pick up the animal in New York State in order to get to know the animal and it's personality. Then they can provide the perfect dog for people looking to adopt the greyhounds. You can fill out an adoption form at their website meetgina(dot)com.

Winter is a tough time for dogs as the cold can really affect many breeds. Doggy clothing is making greater inroads into the dog population (my god are they cute) but it is still great to have an indoor place like PawsWay where the dogs can play and socialize. PawsWay always has some great activities planned, so come out for a run!
