World Press Photo 13

Stellar prize winning pictures from the World's largest annual press photo contest are on display at @ArtsBrookfield Place in #Toronto. The exhibition is on the road for a tour of 45 countries and the photos will be published in the World Press Photo yearbook. The exhibition is free and is staged in the Allen Lambert Galleria from 9 am to 9 pm. Malaysia's Wei Seng Chen photo of a bull race in Indonesia at top.
"For over 55 years the World Press Photo contest has encouraged the highest standards in photojournalism. The contest creates a bridge linking the professionals with the general public. As the announcement of the winners makes headlines around the world, so the inspirational role of photojournalism is highlighted to an audience of hundreds of millions."

Judging for the contest is by leading journalists and the jury is changed yearly to provide fair and balanced procedure for choosing the winners. Here is a selection of some of the photos.
