Freight train derailment in GTA

Several train chemical tankers derailed adjacent to the Steeles Avenue rail crossing between Dixie and Bramalea Roads in Brampton on Monday, October 7, 2013. The large black tankers are marked PROCOR and were reported to be empty.

Police and fire department are on the scene and Steeles Avenue was closed until public safety was determined not to be at risk. The accident occurred before 7 a.m. and played havoc with commuter rail traffic on the Kitchener to Toronto Union Station line.
