Three cities will host a doubleheader race during the upcoming series - Detroit, Toronto and Houston, with full points awarded during each race. Surprisingly enough the races are called 'Race 1' and 'Race 2'. It looks like Toronto picked up the second Canadian event as the Edmonton race is off the 2013 schedule. Edmonton usually follows the weekend after Honda Indy Toronto. There was also a rumour that IndyCar was looking at another venue in addition to Toronto, and a return to Vancouver BC was high on the potential list.
“The Honda Indy Toronto brings a shot of adrenaline to the city every summer,” said David Whitaker, President and CEO of Tourism Toronto. “With the event expanded to two marquee races Saturday and Sunday, visitors have even more reason to plan a weekend stay, while Toronto also benefits from the expanded broadcast and international exposure.”
