Fire at #Toronto St Michaels Hospital

A level two fire was reported at St Michaels Hospital on June 13, 2012 at 11:22am. The hospital located at Shuter and Bond Streets, just one block away from the Eaton Centre, had a fire that started in a roof top generator and spread to the roof. Initial review suggests an electrical cause, which remains to be confirmed. Incident F12064918 details the twenty two units which were dispatched to site including command, pumper and ladder units – the high level of response reflects the amount of injured and sick people that would be impacted had the fire spread throughout the hospital.
The fire was quickly contained and the area blocked off by police until it is deemed safe to open the roads again. Reports suggest that no evacuations were required and no evacuation was witnessed while I was on site. See more photos after the jump.
