Cavalcade of Lights in November

Fireworks and holiday lights are coming to #Toronto on Saturday, November 30, 2013 as Great Gulf presents the 47th annual holiday season celebration at Nathan Phillips Square, beginning at 7 pm. A Paul Bunyan sized Christmas tree will be strung with lights and decorations and lit up at 8 pm followed by fireworks that will shoot up along the front of City Hall's two rounded towers. Fresh Joe Viking, above, and I remember the square in winter from years gone by.
"I want to invite everyone to join the festivities of this year's Cavalcade of Lights" said Mayor Rob Ford. "This fantastic event includes a great lineup of entertainers, spectacular fireworks, and the lighting of the City's giant Christmas tree. It's fun for the whole family."
Performers Tyler Shaw, Divine Brown and Carvin Winans will be singing for the thousands of people that fill the square, the elevated walkway and the skating rink, prior to the tree lighting. Afterwards the music will continue with a live concert with electro-pop artist Diamond Rings followed DJ Dopey spinning some tunes for the skating party.

"Great Gulf is very pleased to return as the presenting sponsor of Cavalcade of Lights, a 47-year Toronto tradition bringing families together to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season," said Jerry Patava, CEO of Great Gulf Group. "The City of Toronto organizes a wonderful event, which provides Great Gulf with an opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation to the communities we serve in the Greater Toronto Area."
