Canadian Tire Motorsport Park's RaceFest in #Toronto

A Corvette sports car burned out in Yonge-Dundas Square, squealed to a halt, and then an experienced race crew completed a blistering fast pit stop. The car was driven by one of Canada's top racers - Ron Fellows of the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, in anticipation of the upcoming July 18-21 SportsCar Grand Prix.

The Wednesday, July 17, 2013 demonstration was part of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) racing team: event described as "Canada’s biggest sports car race of the year, the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix featuring the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron for exotic prototype and GT race cars, makes its only Canadian stop. A world-class field of drivers pilot the globe’s top marques such as Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Lotus, Mazda, Porsche and Viper on Canadian Tire Motorsport Park’s classic, challenging road course. Four other U.S.-based series will be on track; the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites, IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup and the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires (formerly Star Mazda). The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin returns for their final Canadian Tire Motorsport Park event of the season to round out an exciting weekend of racing."
In the square was also a shiny, silver DeltaWing prototype race car which was shown in Canada for the first time. The revolutionary car was featured along with team driver Andy Meyrick of Great Britain. For driver fans there were a number of drivers during autograph sessions and draws for race weekend tickets.

Driver Katherine Legge. She was a Sunshine Girl during her stint in the Grand Prix. She just raced in the Honda Indy Toronto 2013.
