Pokemon GO in Acton

This App is sweeping the world as little game hunters travel outdoors to catch virtual Pokemon and collect prizes. In Acton I went out with my wife as she located the varmints in real world locations using her Apple Iphone. She racked up quite a few pokeballs, a few eggs and captured several Pokemon. How can she not be a master of Pokemon GO by now?
Around our small town we found several places with GO Pokestops, when you get close enough you can spin the sphere and be rewarded with extra Pokeballs and other stuff. Local Pokestops in town included St Albans Church, the Post Office, old City Hall and Acton Optical. Meanwhile your phone vibrates when a Pokemon character is nearby. You flip Pokeballs to try to catch them and sometimes it takes a couple of balls to capture the wily creatures with weird names. Just a few minutes into the outdoor adventure we saw someone a couple of times and they were holding their cell phone. I called out 'are you catching Pokemon' and they said 'you know it!" So it is a cool way to explore and to meet new people.
Already people have been hurt when they haven't paid attention to their surroundings - so always be careful and keep your eyes open. On the plus size people are going out on long walks, getting exercise instead of being housebound on computer games.
"Travel between the real world and the virtual world of Pokémon with Pokémon GO for iPhone and Android devices. With Pokémon GO, you’ll discover Pokémon in a whole new world—your own! Pokémon GO is built on Niantic’s Real World Gaming Platform and will use real locations to encourage players to search far and wide in the real world to discover Pokémon. Pokémon GO allows you to find and catch more than a hundred species of Pokémon as you explore your surroundings.

Get on your feet and step outside to find and catch wild Pokémon. Explore cities and towns around where you live and even around the globe to capture as many Pokémon as you can. As you move around, your smartphone will vibrate to let you know you're near a Pokémon. Once you've encountered a Pokémon, take aim on your smartphone's touch screen and throw a Poké Ball to catch it. Be careful when you try to catch it, or it might run away! Also look for PokéStops located at interesting places, such as public art installations, historical markers, and monuments, where you can collect more Poké Balls and other items."
