Toronto Pride Parade 2016

Sunday, July 3rd is bright and beautiful, just like everyone in the Church St Festival. The final parade starts at 2pm at Bloor St E and takes to Yonge Street before making its way to Allan Gardens Park. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Toronto Mayor John Tory walked together in the parade.

The Parade was halted twice during the heat of the afternoon as thousands lined the streets. Once for the Black Lives matter protest that shut down an intersection and once when one of the float trucks broke down. It made for a longer than usual parade.

A banner remembering the shootings in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando "We march for those that can't" is unfurled at the parades starting point. The parade halted for a minute of silence to pay tribute.
