Toronto City Hall turns 50

Sunday, September 13, 2015 is a birthday for the big, round concrete building full of politicians that we have all come to appreciate for its distinctive look. The 50-year anniversary is of the official 1965 opening.
The skating rink was used to host a Nuit Blanche installation

The free birthday party will include a birthday cake, live entertainment in Nathan Phillips Square and exhibits and interactive activities inside City Hall rotunda. Mayor John Tory - arriving in a vintage TTC streetcar, will lead the event, taking time out of his busy schedule as he decides whether to make a bid for a future Olympic game. It will take place rain or shine from noon to 5pm.
