Santa Claus is coming to town

Toronto's long history of welcoming Chris Kringle with a fancy parade started in 1913 when Eaton's brought in real live reindeer to pull the jolly old fellow in the streets of the city. Now thousands of people come downtown just to watch the long parade pass by on its way to the St. Lawrence Market on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

This year the parade takes a different route beginning at Parliament and Bloor at 12:30pm, running west on Bloor to University Avenue, south to Wellington with a little jog on Yonge, and back to Wellington (see the map at top) and onto Front Street.

Just before the Santa Claus Parade there will be the Holly Jolly 5km Fun Run at 11:45am, following the same route.
