Color Me Rad Toronto 2017

It was a 5K run in Downsview Park along beautiful paths and through arches where volunteers threw coloured powders at the runners. The day was supposed to be rain, rain, rain but it turned out to be dry powder, dry powder, dry powder on Saturday, May 13. Runners took off in groups from the starting line at 10am and the run continued to around noon.

There was no liquid colour station this year and the powders were yellow, pink, green, orange, purple and blue. I find yellow clouds of colour were my favourite. I would like to see the dull orange go and a bright red put into the mix. Watching the runners I saw that they really enjoyed the event and if anything would want dumpsters dropping tons of powder over them. When the powder starts running out the runners would get down on the ground and roll around until their white shirts started to fill up with colour.

The registration area had food trucks and a large stage pumping out loud music. People crowd around and they pass out more colour packets to the people, then on command everyone releases the powder and the sky fills with a multi-coloured explosion of cool.
