The atmosphere was only slightly hazy as the crowd swelled around the statue of Edward VII on his horse in the Centre of Queen's Park North. Starting around noon on Saturday, May 3, 2014 the marchers set off on their protest march near 2 pm, supported by parade marshals and a fleet of bicycle police and cruisers . It wasn't long before the group split into three large groups, moving slowly, ever so slowly down some of Toronto's busiest downtown streets including Bay and Yonge Streets.
