Honda Indy #Toronto Begins 2013 Track Construction

The @HondaIndy construction kick-off starts at 11am on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Exhibition Place. Home to sports teams, conventions, trade shows and the annual Canadian National Exhibition the conversion  of the grounds to a high-speed racetrack takes about a month of hard work to complete. The double header IndyCar race weekend will hit the track from July 12-14.

Charlie Johnstone, President of the Honda Indy Toronto and Jim Tario, Director of Track Operations will be joined by Honda Jr Red Riders, Smoke's Poutinerie, Amsterdam Brewery, Muskoka Brewery and other race partners to present some of the upcoming off-track activities and launch the construction.

TORONTO, ON, June 5, 2013 - "Today, organizers of the Honda Indy Toronto kicked-off construction of its famous street course at Exhibition Place. For the first time, the track build will take place at night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to minimize disruptions for commuters. The 11-turn race track will take approximately six weeks to complete and will be ready just in time for two IndyCar races, on July 13 and 14."
