#peggyscorner Fresh Nova Scotia Lobster

A replica of the famous @VisitNovaScotia lighthouse from Peggy's Cove sits at a #Toronto intersection in the @TOFinancialDistrict - and it was my ticket to live lobsters flown in fresh from the east coast of Canada!

The 28-foot lighthouse is a promotion for Nova Scotia Tourism. The coastal province is both a tourist and culinary destination, and the promotion featured lobster prizes awarded every day from May 15 to June 9, 2013. The contest used twitter and Instagram social media for entry - just post a photo of the lighthouse for a chance to win.
I can smell the ocean already
The winners receive a gift certificate from www.clearwater.ca (dedicated to sustainable seafood excellence) and it was easy to order some lobster and have it delivered right to your door. I also paid extra and got some King Crab legs. Those tasty sea creatures came in today and we quickly cooked up the seafood and it was just so tasty - thanks Nova Scotia and Clearwater!

"The Peggy's Cove lighthouse is an international tourism icon, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors every year," said Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism, Graham Steele. "The Peggy's Corner promotion is one of many creative tactics in our Take Yourself There tourism marketing campaign, which is encouraging more first-time visitors from outside the region to visit Nova Scotia."
