Toronto Motorcycle Springshow 2014

The end of winter is just a few days away but temperature wise we are still a long way from Spring. Thank goodness for the March 15-16 motorcycle event at the International Centre. Two halls of new, used and custom choppers, along with aisles full of motorcycle accessories was enough to keep the cold at bay.

"As motorcyclists eagerly await the start of the 2014 motorcycle riding season, the Motorcycle SPRINGSHOW brings riders together for a weekend of motorcycle culture, gear shopping, bench racing, and bike ogling as well as being a social event for riders of all types. Bring your walking shoes because the latest expansion means larger displays of the New 2014 model motorcycles including touring and cruising bikes, street bikes, offroad bikes, scooters, production customs and more. There will be great deals on non-current models too. The giant Used Bike Clearance Sale is bigger and better this year for those who are looking to upgrade or shopping for their first bike."
The show brings touring, cruising, street, sport, offroad and custom bikes out of the cold and into the huge halls of the convention centre. Visitors could buy new and used bikes at the show or just look at the attractions like the vintage Bikes of the Century. And if your pleasure was the art and looks of the custom bikes you could see the Showbike Builders Competition in Hall One with $20,000 in cash and awards up for grabs.
Lovely lingerie and motorcycle models posed for photos at the show.

Besides motorcycle clubs there were a variety of charity rides represented at this year's show like the Ride for Sight (motorcyclists fighting blindness), the Perth County Forbidden Ride (probably something to do with the dance) and The Wicked Ride to name a few. The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park had a booth with information and a prize draw for the 2014 racing schedule, with a Superbike Doubleheader weekend in August. Coming this summer is the much anticipated Friday the 13th of June, 2014 Port Dover motorcycle rally.

The Custom Bike showcase had three levels of competition - top prizes were at the Pro Builders Class led by judge and bike builder Bob McKay. The winner of this Class (level 3) won $5,000 and a 6 foot trophy. Level two featured sub-classes in Vintage, Touring, Street, Custom, Competition and Special Interest.

Terez Leathers returned with the Black is Back fashion show in Hall One West and the Toronto Dymes presented designs by Todd White and Studio Cycle Wear. Some of the models of Terez Leathers have fun at the end of the show.
