Toronto Cavalcade of Lights 2019

Fireworks and Christmas lights lit up city hall on November 30th during the Cavalcade of Lights presented by Great Gulf. The Saturday festival in Nathan Phillips Square started at 7pm and continued until 10:30pm with concerts, DJ skate parties and a ceremonial tree lighting. The night was fun and cold.

Main stage performances:
6:30 p.m. Pre-show skating party, sponsored by Tim Hortons®, with award-winning, Canadian hip-hop icon DJ Mel Boogie
7:20 p.m. Traditional welcome by Elder Garry Sault
7:30 p.m. Nunavut’s radiant young electropop artist Riit
8:10 p.m. First lighting of the Christmas tree and remarks
8:35 p.m. Performance by Lemon Bucket Orkestra sponsored by Great Gulf
9:30 p.m. Fireworks display sponsored by Toronto Real Estate Board

The Cavalcade of Lights is the city's official start to the holiday season and is the 53rd annual celebration and features a 50 foot Christmas tree.

The city closed the following roads on Saturday, November 30 from 4 p.m. to midnight:
Bay Street between Dundas Street West and Richmond Street West
Elizabeth Street between Foster Place and Hagerman Street
Hagerman Street between Elizabeth Street and Bay Street
Albert Street between James Street and Bay Street
James Street between Queen Street and Albert Street
Queen Street West between Yonge Street and University Avenue
York Street between Richmond Street West and Queen Street West
Crowds at Bay and Queen Streets
