The new Ryerson University building on Yonge Street is like a jewel among the concrete blah of many of the older buildings in the downtown core, especially of the other adjacent Ryerson structures. I am glad they decided to go the other way and put up something that is interesting.

Student Learning Centre was granted by the City of Toronto on February 18, 2015. The building was officially turned over from the Contractor to Ryerson University on February 20, 2015. The Student Learning Centre was officially opened to public access at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015."
The gold and blue roadway that was turned into pedestrian friendly boulevard did not last long before the colours faded. Now it is back to the normal asphalt.
