The Big Apple

Heading out to the famous City that never sleeps, I took a wrong turn and ended up in Colborne, Ontario. The slightly large, round tourist attraction sits forever red beside Highway 401, tempting people zooming by on the provincial controlled access road to come into the pie factory that has churned out a mind blowing half million baked products.

The little apple is a little creepy though

Located just south of exit #497 the apple is the largest in the world, so big in fact that it would be hard to miss, even at highway speeds.
"Welcome to the world's biggest apple where our homemade apple pies and apple bread are made and baked right in front of you! Under the new ownership there has been significant renovations done throughout the entire establishment to create a warm country welcome. Watch us making your favourite apple pie, enjoy lunch in our cafeteria-style restaurant or pick up that special souvenir for home. There is something for everyone! The Big Apple hosts more than 500,000 people each year, offering fun all! All outdoor activities are complementary such as Mini putt, Shuffleboard, Bocce ball, Ping Pong and our popular kid's train ride."
Christmas decorations are up for the holiday season
