Acton Winter Carnival

Old Man Winter brought some fun on a sunny Sunday in Prospect Park during the annual family festival. The events started on Saturday, January 24 with a community dance at the Town Hall Centre and continued on Sunday, January 25 with an Air Cadets Pancake Breakfast and included ice skating, curling, dog cart and tractor wagon rides throughout the day. Frozen water in many forms were provided by Iceculture and I had two favourites - the large tic, tac, toe game, which we put together for hugs and kisses, and the frozen maple syrup candy making stand.

A Chili Cook-off and Acton Winter Carnival closing ceremonies took place today at 4 pm.

Other events kept people warm with ice block and snowman building, snow horse shoes, obstacle course and snow golf while you could get some hot chocolate and coffee at the food concession. If that didn't do the trick you could stand beside the roaring bonfires! Crafts and bingo games were being played inside the Dufferin Community Centre.
