Toronto Spring Lunar New Year Celebration 2026

This is the final weekend of the current Lunar New Year and now, as the Year of the Horse arrives on Tuesday, February 17, it's time to begin your journey of renewal and hope while enjoying Chinese traditions during the Toronto Spring Lunar New Year and Spring Festival Fireworks in Nathan Phillips Square. The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, February 14 to 15, 2026 from 2pm till 11pm. Their website poster is shown in the photo at top.

Fireworks are an integral part of Chinese culture and have been around for a couple thousand years and they will be part of this year's event with the fireworks countdown beginning at 8:30pm on Sunday. "Join us as we light up the night to chase away the cold and welcome the Year of the Horse - a journey filled with warmth, inclusivity, and prosperity."
