University Avenue fountains back again

When I saw a recent picture of the University Avenue fountains working again, I wasn't sure I could believe it. The large fountains sit on both sides of the Queen Street West intersection, located in the large islands in the middle of the University Avenue. Fenced off and empty for so long, they seemed to be a decades long project to get the water running again.

In 2009 the water began to leak into the subway below and the fountains were cut off. Now they once again have water flowing through the fountains and showing a picturesque side of big city life. Probably just fixed because of the upcoming Pan Am games - one of the sure reasons to spend money in Toronto.
