We were told that the photo and video sharing service that posted the content to Twitter would end in September of 2014 and that if we wanted the photos we would have to download them before they disappeared forever. Twitter ended up with the photo archives as Twitpic shut down without a buyer, but I downloaded the photos before I knew they were to be spared.
