Steam on Bay

Toronto's underground steam system vents in a large plume of hot, wet air at Bay and Queen Streets and in the cold morning, a homeless person enjoys the warmth.
The many vents of the enwave heating system provide popular spots for the less fortunate to endure the cold nights without having to go into the shelters. In 2013 it was estimated that 447 people slept in the rough, with over 5,000 people in shelters and living outdoors.
