Toronto's Longest night 2015

As the sun hides away from dread of the approaching cold of winter the famous Kensington Market celebrates the night with a street party and parade. The annual Winter Solstice festivities take place on December 21 starting at 6:30pm at the intersection of Oxford and Augusta.
The 26th annual parade sponsored by Red Pepper Spectacle Arts starts at 7:00pm and helps to "ignite the longest darkest night" in a throwback to earlier times when stones were put into circles. Flames, musical marching bands and strange costumes make the party a unique experience in the city. Photos by Joe Hamilton.
