Ching Chong Chinaman by Lauren Yee

Zoe Doyle, Brenda Kamino, Oliver Koomsatira, Richard Lee, Jane Luk and John Ng appear in the Fu-GEN Theatre performance of Ching Chong Chinaman from March 12-30, 2013. Director Nina Lee Aquino takes the reins at the Aki Studio Theatre at Daniels Spectrum 585 Dundas Street East, Toronto.

"The ultra-assimilated Wong family is as Chinese-American as apple pie: teenager Upton dreams of World of Warcraft superstardom; his sister Desi dreams of early admission to Princeton. Unfortunately, Upton’s chores and homework get in the way of his 24/7 videogaming, and Desi’s math grades don’t fit the Asian-American stereotype. Then Upton comes up with a novel solution for both problems: he acquires a Chinese indentured servant, who harbors an American dream of his own."

Performances happen Tuesday to Saturday at 8pm and with Saturday and Sunday shows at 2pm with tickets costing $15-28 (includes HST, with a $2 ticket surcharge).
