Olympic Heroes Parade in #Toronto

“They gave their everything. Now let’s give them a parade to remember.” Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Athletes who competed in the 2012 London Olympics were cheered by fans during the Friday September 21 Olympic Heroes Parade. Cries of ‘Canada’ filled the air as the large crowds lining the parade route waited for the athletes to make their way south along Bay Street, west along Wellington Street and down York Street where the parade ended near the Air Canada Centre.
The Olympians started gathering beside City Hall, signing autographs and meeting fans, while the bands and police escorts – including a mounted police unit, led them out onto the streets of Toronto. There was an end of the parade celebration at Maple Leaf Square, just outside the ACC.
