Top 6 apps you shouldn't travel without

As August approaches, the end of summer and back to school thoughts are starting to occur. Please find below a list apps for those getting a much needed vacation. These apps will give you ability to relax and enjoy your vacation without having to worry about all the issues that are included with traveling.

TOP 6 APPS YOU SHOULDN’T TRAVEL WITHOUT:

OpenTable— OpenTable lets you make reservations at more than 13,000 restaurants in the U.S., Canada, and abroad, and shows you what reservation times are available before you put in your request. You can also read diner reviews and view menus, both especially valuable when traveling.

Picksie — A location-based discovery service for iOS and Android devices that answer the question “What can I do, right here, right now?” Picksie applies a user’s profile, past ratings, searches and reviews, as well as current day, time and weather, to recommend events, activities and places of interest – such as restaurants, cafes, bars and cinemas. The app also allow the purchase of tickets to sounding events directly on the apps platform

HotelTonight — This app could save you from spending the night on the airport floor should a summer storm ground your flight. It works equally as well for those on a road trip or travelers inclined to book getaways at the (very) last minute. One important note about HotelTonight is that it's good for same-day hotel bookings only.

Friendthem — is a revolutionary location-based connectivity app, with fine-grained and easily-configured privacy controls, which is changing the way the world connects in a seamless and fun manner by helping them send Facebook friend requests to people they meet in the real world. A great tool for connecting with people you meet along the way.

TripIt— TripIt links to your e-mail account and picks up every confirmation number that comes into your inbox. Any flight, hotel, or even dinner reservation that contains a confirmation number will be put into an organized itinerary, all in one place. Flight delays and last-minute changes sent to your e-mail will be updated automatically.

Flight Aware — There is nothing more frustrating than making an hours-long commute to your airport only to find out your flight has been delayed for half a day or cancelled altogether. You can track flights with amazing maps, and receive real-time info on departure info, delays and gate assignments.
