Luminato 6

June 8-17, 2012 is the sixth season of the #Toronto @Luminato Festival of Arts and Creativity. Many of the events and installations are being prepared for the upcoming festival which starts this Friday and I noticed that "Windscape" art installation is starting to take shape.
"This year, to celebrate David Pecaut Square as the Festival’s central hub, the square is being transformed by Toronto’s illustrious Diamond Schmitt Architects and reimagined as Windscape. The installation suggests a giant ribbon winding through the square, with an array of windsocks that, choreographed to music from Festival artists, are a show unto themselves. Windscape is the ideal place to begin and end your daily Luminato adventures, offering a vibrant schedule of free Lunchtime Illuminations and more than 30 free concerts from an international array of artists."
David Pecaut Square between Metro Hall and Roy Thomson Hall is the Festival Hub and home to the free festival stage with frequent outdoor concerts. Hip Hop star K'AANN has a concert on the first night (Friday, June 8) at 8pm.

During Doors Open we managed to get a sneak peek of "The Encampment" at Fort York.
