Berczy Park fountain still waits for spring

One of my favourite #Toronto fountains is located in Berczy Park and today the park was full of people sitting and enjoying the sun and atmosphere of the urban oasis. Located just east of Yonge Street and between Wellington and Front Streets this park sits beside the flatiron building. Without the playful water the fountain just looks sad and lonely.
The large, round fountain still has the temporary cover over the water jets that supported the fake Christmas tree during the winter. No water runs through the fountain because everyone still thinks that winter will come back and freeze everything. People try to cheer up the concrete circle by sitting on its wall, unafraid of falling into the churning water that has yet to fill the fountain. Here is the fountain in all its glory from past summers.
