The racing crews that looks after the fine tuned machine that is an open wheel race car includes a specialist - the umbrella guy. They don't seem to use team specific umbrellas, just whatever someone might have handy. Their job is to keep the hot sun off the race car driver as he is in the pits during practice. Although sometimes they have to run off and do something else and the driver has to hold his own umbrella.
I see that the race weekend weather has changed from sunny and warm to cool with showers - hopefully if it rains it will be minor and we can all run into the beer tents to keep dry, otherwise we could all use an personal umbrella guy.
