The Luminato Box in Brookfield Place was draped with a black curtain across the entrance. Was it closed? No, it was set up like a theatre and I entered the box and encountered two empty chairs in front of a screen.
Playing in the darkness was a short video showing the hands of Rhonda Tepper as she used Signed Exact English. This installation was made by singer, composer and video artist Laurel MacDonald. The silent signed communication is supposed to be "if I love you if you love me" played over and over; which is also the title of the piece.
